Tasks : Full structural analysis and design. Documentation and construction drawings.
Main points :
- Spatial frame structural analysis of the RC-model, by the use of software "NEXT for WINDOWS".
- Earthquake design according to EAK 2000.
- Special attention to the location and layout of the required shear walls (minimum 2m in length, properly placed in the X and Y directions) and to the foundations (ground slab) due to the shape of the land-plot (oblong) and for minimizing the range of the needed seismic joint gaps.

 


Fishing shelter

Project's Title & description : Preliminary design of a fishing shelter.
Project's Place : Kalamaki, municipality of Loutraki / GREECE.

Tasks : Preliminary structural analysis and design of the service RC-buildings. Documentation and drawings
Main points :
- Spatial frame structural analysis of the concrete structural model by the use of software "NEXT for WINDOWS".
- Earthquake design according to EAK 2000.
- Special attention to the location and layout of the upstanding beams and to the foundation (ground slab) due to the architectural requirements and the presence of underground water table, respectively.

 


Touristic lodging

Project's Title & description : Preliminary design of a building (touristic lodging for miltiple uses).
Project's Place : Gythion port / GREECE
Year : 2008
Tasks : Preliminary structural analysis and design. Documentation and drawings.
Main points :
- Spatial frame structural analysis of each RC-model by the use of software "NEXT for WINDOWS".
- Preliminary earthquake design according to EAK 2000.
- Special attention to the narrow sized "neck-slab" connecting the two main parts with different roof levels. Because of it, no diaphragmatic function of slabs assumed.

 


Six independent residential houses (maisonettes)

Project's Title & description : Six independent residential houses (maisonettes) with common underground storey (car park).
Project's Place : Roupel and Anoixeos str. – Adames, Kifissia / GREECE.

Tasks : Full structural analysis and design. Documentation and construction drawings.
Main points :
- Spatial frame structural analysis of the RC-model by the use of software "NEXT for WINDOWS".
- Earthquake design according to EAK 2000.
- Special attention to the discretization of the structural model, due to the common underground car park and the large external dimensions. Also, because of the complex asymmetrical geometry and shape of the multi-inclined roofs.

 


Earth retaining wall

Project's Title & description : Earthquake resistant earth retaining wall.
Project's Place : Marathonos str. – Stamata Attikis / GREECE.
Year : 2007
Tasks : Full structural analysis and design. Documentation and construction drawings.
Main points :
- Plane structural analysis of the RC-model (total retaining wall height 7.50m) by the use of software "Retaining wall" (RUNET).
- Earthquake design according to EAK 2000.
- Special attention to the internal drainage system for minimizing the additional water pressures at the back side of the wall.

 


Steel industrial building

Project's Title & description : Steel industrial building for packaging and storing medicines, with offices and underground storey.

Main points :
- Spatial frame structural analysis of the steel model by the use of software "NEXT for WINDOWS".

- Full steel joint analysis and design (steel detailing).
- Special attention to the type of the joints (welded and/or bolted) between the columns and beams due to their impact into the damping factor involved in the overall seismic coefficient.

 


Earth retaining structures and geo-works

Project's Title & description : Earth retaining structures and geotechnical works of an office building.
Project's Place : I. Ioannou 145 str. – Xylokastro Korinthias / GREECE.
Year : 2005
Tasks : Site geotechnical investigation, appraisal report and structural design of the earth retaining structures. Documentation and construction drawings.
Main points of the geotechnical investigation :
- Boreholes' drilling, soil sampling, in situ testing (SPT)  - in situ supervision
- Laboratory testing of the extracted samples.
- Drawing up the appraisal report and overall geotechnical assessment.
Main points of the structural design :
- Plane structural analysis of the RC-retaining pile wall by the use of software "WinWALLS" and "WWDIM" (FIDES DV) and other traditional methods (Mononobe - Okabe, etc.)
- Earthquake design according to EAK 2000.
- Special attention to the stages (lengths and depths) of the excavation phases and the design of the temporary supporting measures for the adjacent structures and their foundations.
- Supervision in-situ at all critical workphases.

Project's Place : "Dorkada – Riziana", on the motorway axis Thessaloniki – Serres – Promahonas of the EGNATIA ODOS S.A / GREECE.
Year : 2003 - 2004
Tasks : Participation to the preliminary design. Documentation and draft drawings.
Main points :
- Rock mass classification according to RMR and NGI
- Estimation and calculation (FEM) of the temporary support measures inside the Tunnel.
- Pre- dimensioning of the thickness and form of the tunnel's final internal concrete lining.
- Earth static analysis, design and checks for the structures in the near areas of the entrance and exit points of the tunnel (cut and covers, embankments, cuts, etc.)
- Special attention to the phases, shape, length, step of sectional excavation inside the tunnel, because of the type and nature of the rock mass.
- Calculations with classic methods for estimating the internal rock mass convergence during the excavation phases (Panet Curves, etc), as well as with the software : Rocklab, Dips, Swedge, Slide, Phase2 (Geomechanics Software & Research). .

Geotechnical site investigations

Project's Title & description : Geotechnical site investigations for infrastructural projects (harbous) and for private or public interest buildings (villas, schools, underground car parks, gyms, hospitals, etc).
Project's Places : Approximately twenty different locations throughout Greece, many of them within the Athens near area, while the rest in Ithaki island, Xylokastro, Patmos island, Lemnos island, Patras, Leivadia and Agrinio.
Years : 2000-2005
Tasks : Full organisational tasks and duties - coordination, execution and supervision, evaluation, assesment and geotechnical engineering appraisal report.
Main points :
- Preliminary works : site reconnaissance and collection of the necessary information (geological maps, general topography, presence of watersources, ponds, optical check for landslides, previous site use, etc).
- Boreholes, drillings and trial pits.
- Soil sampling, in situ testing (SPT, permeability, etc.) underground water table monitoring (Piezometer installation), laboratory tests (soil classification, sieve analysis, compressibility, swelling, uniaxial, UUPP/CUPP/CDPP, etc.)
- Drawing up of the appraisal geotechnical report.
